Have Questions? We’re Here to Help

What makes Rochelle Cowan Physio different?

At RC Physio we specialise exclusively in pelvic health. Our team works with you not only to alleviate the symptoms, but also to find the underlying ‘why’ so you experience true, lasting relief. We spend a full hour with each of our patients, hands-on and one to one to provide the level of care we would want for our own family and friends.

Everyone at the clinic – from our admin team to clinicians is passionate about this specialty, and it's all we do so we can focus on providing the most up to date care.

Can We Help?

I’ve been to pelvic physio before, can you still help?

Absolutely! A lot of our patients have been to other facilities. We have a unique treatment approach and advanced techniques – it will be a very different experience than another facility.

What is my first appointment like?

You’ll be welcomed by someone from our team as soon as you arrive and you’ll head into the private treatment room. You will be able to share your story, symptoms and goals without feeling rushed.

You will get a thorough evaluation and treatment on the first day. You will leave with an ‘Action Plan’ for going forward for how to meet your goals.

We know coming to pelvic floor therapy can be intimidating – you’ll be taken care of throughout your time at Rochelle Cowan Physio and make sure you are comfortable throughout your treatment with us.

Can I come in if I’m pregnant and have no symptoms?

Absolutely! We specialise in supporting pregnant women. We have a specialised program that is aimed at preparing you for the mechanics of labour and delivery. It can help reduce the risk of medical interventions during delivery, help with baby positioning, teach breathing techniques to reduce the risk of prolapse, teach you labour and pushing positions to reduce the risk of tearing and the use of instruments. It will give you the confidence you need to feel fully prepared for labour.

Can’t I just do ‘kegels’?

Actually, no. Most of the time Kegels (pelvic floor strengthening exercises) aren’t helpful and can often make things worse. And they never resolve the underlying ‘why’. Your treatment is going to be about a lot more than ‘just kegel’s’.

Can you help if I am still a bride and not yet married?

We have developed a specialised program to assist new brides in feeling confident heading into their marriage. We recommend coming for some of these sessions before you are married and then continuing after you are married.

Logistics
Do I need a referral from a doctor to come?

No, you can just schedule your evaluation and come in. We work closely with clinicians, and will send any relevant information over to your GP/specialists so they are aware we are working with you and in order to work together to get you better.

How long are appointments?
Each of our appointments is at least a full hour. We also offer two hour appointments for those who want to ‘put their foot on the gas’, have complex conditions or are driving from far away for treatment.
How do I get started?

Give our office a call on 07432 223 188. We can answer any questions you have and find a time for your initial evaluation. You do not need a referral or any testing to get started, we will do our own full evaluation of your case.
